Sightseeing of Skopje on foot: we start at Mother Teresa memorial house, and through the main city square with the numerous monuments built for Skopje 2014 project, over the Stone Bridge to the old part of the city in the maze of cobblestoned streets of the Old Bazaar with the Ottoman heritage: mosques, Turkish baths turned into galleries, old inns and many art craft shops. Dinner in a restaurant in the Old bazaar. Overnight in hotel in Skopje.

09:00 After breakfast departure from Skopje. A day for East Macedonia – you will be riding up the Osogovo mountains by the Bulgarian border to the monastery complex of St Joakim Osogovski; hear the essentials about Macedonian Orthodox religion and traditions, have a short break in the monastery restaurant under the old elm, and continue to the Valley of Stone Dolls near Kratovo. Next: lunch in a restaurant by Gradche Lake near Kochani. After the lunch we’ll continue to Berovo, a small picturesque town in the cleanest area not only in Macedonia, but in the whole territory of ex-Yugoslavia, placed in Maleshevo mountains. Accommodation in the hotel in Berovo, and transfer to a sheepfold in the mountains for traditional dinner made of organic and eco-products of Maleshevo region. Overnight in hotel in Berovo.

09:00 After breakfast, walking tour of the town with visit of local art crafts: weaver, woodcarver, metalworker with introduction in the original craft,which is still alive in some parts of Macedonia. Coffee break with honey tasting by Berovo Lake, and we leave Berovo continuing to Strumica, and to Veljusa monastery, with the church, a real Byzantine masterpiece built in 11th century, completely preserved today. Lunch will be by Dojran Lake, traditionally prepared Dojran fish on reed. After lunch departure to Stobi archeological site, the city founded at the sunset of the Ancient Macedonian Kingdom. Arrival in the evening in Demir Kapija (the Iron Gate) placed in the wine-area of Macedonia. Wine producing has been traditional in Macedonia since ancient times. The mild climate and plenty of sunny days give unique taste to the Macedonian wines, made of high quality grapes, such as Sauvignon, Merlot, and Vranec. Accommodation in a winery hotel. Introduction in the process of wine production and tour of the winery cellars. Dinner with wine-tasting (5 wines) and overnight in the winery hotel.

After breakfast we leave to Prilep. Short break in the Old Town of Prilep, and continue to Krushevo, the highest town in Macedonia with preserved traditional architecture which makes it a town-museum. After the walk through Krushevo cobblestoned streets and cafes, we continue to Pelister National Park for a tasty village lunch in one of the villages at the foothills of Mt Baba. Departure to Ohrid over Galichica National Park. Late afternoon visit of St Naum monastery complex by the springs of river Crn Drim flowing into Ohrid Lake. Accommodation in hotel in Ohrid. Dinner in a restaurant on the shore of Ohrid Lake. Overnight in Ohrid, (UNESCO World Heritage town, the birthplace of the Cyrillic script and home to 365 orthodox churches and ancient Roman ruins).

We leave Ohrid in the morning and drive along the coast to Kalishta to visit the cave churches in the rocks above Ohrid Lake, home to some of the greatest medieval paintings in Macedonia dating back to 14th century. Further departure to Vevchani village, break by the springs, and continue to Globochica Lake, where we’ll be transferred by rafts to the small hospitable village on the other side of the lake. Lunch in a local restaurant – traditional game specialties. In the afternoon we’ll continue the tour around National Park Mavrovo, ride along the coast of Mavrovo Lake and visit one of the masterpieces in woodcarving in Macedonia – the iconostasis in church St John Bigorski. Arrival in Skopje in the evening. Accommodation in hotel in Skopje, and join the dinner-party in the “Biker’s place”. Overnight in Skopje.
